Chubb Acquires Cigna's Personal Accident Business

Leading Global Insurer Expands its Portfolio

Third Quarter 2021 Corporate Presentation

New York, NY - November 1, 2021 - Chubb, a leading global insurance company, today announced the acquisition of Cigna's personal accident business. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2021, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.

"This acquisition is an important step in our strategy to grow our global personal accident business," said Evan G. Greenberg, Chairman and CEO of Chubb. "Cigna's personal accident portfolio is a valuable addition to our existing business, and we are pleased to welcome their customers to Chubb."

The acquisition will add approximately $250 million of annual premium to Chubb's personal accident business. Cigna's personal accident portfolio includes individual and group policies that provide coverage for accidental death, dismemberment, and disability.
